Richard Bernard ChillCott
Totally passionate about his creations, Richard defined himself by his work. Richard was an ingenious designer who also had the technical skills needed to take his ideas and bring them to life. His artistic design process included: inspiration; conception; rough drawing; fine-tuning; hand-drawing with detailed specifications; construction.
Richard was an extremely versatile artist/craftsman and while the majority of his career was spent creating beautiful pieces of furniture he also served as the architect for many new homes. Later in life, Richard was mainly focused on architectural design projects and discovered that this type of work was his true passion. He loved working through the specific issues with each lot; designing a unique elevation; creating an extremely functional floor plan for the property; and then supporting the building process for his design.
Throughout his lifetime Richard had been encouraged and inspired by many different people: his grandfather; the architectural firm where he had worked as a teenager; numerous designers and artists; the manufacturers who produced some of his work; the gallery owners where his work had been showcased; and his many loyal patrons who treasured the works of art that had been created for them. Richard also inspired the diverse group of creative people that he associated with. He thrived on these relationships and interactions and was truly invested in the success of the next generations of artists.

Richard had planned on curating his work into a book to serve as his legacy after he was gone. This website has taken the place of the book to showcase his talent, ideas and vision and also to provide inspiration for those who come after him.
